Fall Leadership Workshop
FLW is short for Fall Leadership Workshop. This is an event that FCCLA chapter officers attend to gain new leadership skills. The Medicine Valley chapter officers traveled to the Alliance FLW last September. While there they learned many great skills and were able to meet new people, listen to a great keynote speaker, and strengthen their leadership skills. Three of our chapter members are currently serving as State Officers. They were able to give presentations, and help the chapter officers to learn new skills. It was a successful day, and the skills we learned at this conference will help strengthen our chapter and stick with our officers for life.
Service Trip
This year some of our chapter members went on a service trip to Denver in November. They had a blast! They went shopping and got to know each other better. Something else they did was tour the Molly Brown house. They went to the Denver Botantical Gardens and helped replant plants and also raked leaves. Another thing they did was help with a food bank. It was a great experience to help other people in the community. These experiences taught them excellent leadership skills.
District 11 Meeting
District 11 Meeting in November was a hit this year for the Medicine Valley FCCLA Chapter! We had a lot of fun! There were some great sessions that taught the members about social media and leadership skills. Ali Cottrell got to serve as the District 11 VP of Public Relations! She did a great job! We also had a creed speaker participant and we had many participants for the poster contest. Haylee Evans and Sabra Schmidt both presented sessions at the meeting as well as Sheldon Johnson and Hope Stone.
Commissioner's Recognition
In November Sheldon Johnsen and Sabra Schmidt from the Medicine Valley FCCLA chapter recieved a huge surprise! They were invited to be part of the Commissioner's Recognition in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 13, 2017. They were recognized at this event because they both received such a high score at National STAR Competition. We are very proud of them, and were grateful that they were able to represent us on such a high level!
Christmas Party
Every year, the Medicine Valley FCCLA Chapter holds a Christmas party to let our members know how much we appreciate all of their hard work! This year the party was held right after a meeting on December 18. We had a great turn out! At the party we watched movies and had awesome treats. We also made Holiday cards for hospitalized people. It was a lot of fun!! After the party, we opened up a STAR work night. We hope to continue doing this activity for a long time!
District STAR
Districts was held in Cambridge in January this year. It was a long day but ended up being a super successful day! Four out of four of our teams qualified for state!
Peer Ed Retreat
Peer Education Conference this year will be held in Kearney on February 26. The theme this year is Spinning Your Way Into FCCLA. For our community outreach project this year we will be collecting food items for a food drive.
FCCLA Week Schedule-Febuary 11-17
FCCLA week is always a fun and exciting week for our chapter. We make sure to get the whole student body involved in the weekly activities. We don't let one day slip by without holding some type of event that is fun for the whole school!

Blood Drive
One event that our chapter has been involved with the past few years is holding a Red Cross blood drive in our High School gymnasium. Our advisor assigns 3-4 senior FCCLA members to take charge! These seniors are in charge of signing students and community members up, advertising and running the event. It is always a great success, and a great way for our chapter to give back! This year's blood drive is on February 28th.
State Leadership Conference

This years State Leadership Conference will be held in Lincoln on April 8-10. The theme this year is "Grow Potential, Strengthen Roots."
National Leadership Conference
